A county commissioner in Leavenworth, KS is under fire for telling a black woman he belongs to the “master race” during an official meeting.
At a meeting this week, Commissioner Louis Klemp told an African American city planner “I don’t want you to think I’m picking on you because we’re part of the master race” and told her “you got a gap in your teeth”.
Now both county and city officials are demanding that Klemp resign. Leavenworth’s mayor called it “a stain on our community”.
Klemp previously stirred up controversy in another county meeting when he complained about Martin Luther King Day while praising Robert E. Lee.
