President Trump is planning to increase tariffs on Chinese-made products, and that might include your brand new iPhone.
Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he will ‘maybe’ impose a tariff on iPhones and laptops, saying “I can make it 10 percent, and people could stand that very easily”.
Currently Apple products are exempt from the Chinese tariffs, which are set to increase to 25 percent on Jan. 1st.
The news sent Apple stock plummeting by 1.2 percent on Tuesday, continuing a monthlong dip of more than 20 percent in November.
