After 15 months of battling it out among the three neighboring nations over trade disputes, the new NAFTA has been signed, ushering in the USMCA era on Friday morning.
The three leaders, President Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto met at the G-20 Summit in Buenos Aries, adding their signatures to each country’s copy of the agreement.
While called the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement, Canada will opt to change the order of the names on their official documents, leading with their’s first.
Trump noted at the signing ceremony that it was a hard fight, but “battles sometimes make great friendships.”
