(CHICAGO) In the latest over the FBI raid of Ald. Ed Burke’s offices, but candidate for mayor, Lori Lightfoot, says if Burke gets re-elected, he should lose his perch as City Council Chairman of Finance.
She says Ed Burke is innocent until proven guilty of charges that even haven’t been filed, but if he gets re-elected and she’s mayor, he’ll lose his power and perks.
” Even in the absence of this cloud of suspicion, Ed Burke has to be stripped of his chairmanship, his security detail and it’s irresponsible of one alderman to have total control over a workers compensation program that by estimates is a $100 million enterprise every single year into which there is zero visibility.”
