(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, Susana Mendoza says she’s for slot machines at OHare and Midway, which would be new money that could only be spent for airports improvements.
Taping Connected to Chicago for Sunday night at 7, host Bill Cameron ran Mendoza down the list of potential new revenue sources and when it came to video gaming, she brought up slots at the airports.
“It’s not like you’re gonna do video gaming. It has to be targeted and in a responsible way. I’d be open to slots at the airports. Where the tourists are coming. The majority of Chicagoans aren’t hanging out at the airports. We might be seeing revenue there that might be available. I don’t want to utilize or expand casino gaming or video poker or stuff in communities that already have signficant social challenges.”
And how much is Mendoza going to miss her favorite target Gov Bruce Rauner?
“Not at all! I’m sorry. Ya know, I’m trying to be nice now!”
