(ST. LOUIS) — A new study shows Illinois residents continue to flee the state.
A study by St. Louis based moving company United Van Lines shows that Illinois falls behind New Jersey in states with the highest outbound moves.
The movers study shows that in 2018, the majority of Illinoians moving out of the state left because of job reasons followed by retirement, family obligations and lifestyle changes.
Rounding out the top five outbound moves were Connecticut, New York and Kansas.
Meanwhile, the state gaining the most inbound moves was Vermont, followed by Oregon, Idaho Nevada and Arizona.
