If a 2018 trend continues, New Jersey, the fourth smallest state in the U.S., could be on its way to becoming the least populated.
A study released Thursday reveals more people moved out of Jersey than any other state in 2018.
The study, conducted by United Van Lines, shows the majority of the movers, who were 55 and older, relocated for employment reasons.
Illinois checks in at number two on the list, followed by Connecticut, New York and Kansas.
There’s a good chance at least some of the outbound residents ended up in Vermont, which registered the highest percentage of inbound moves over the past 12 months.
Rounding out the top four are Oregon, Idaho and Nevada.
