(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, Bill Cameron says Lori Lightfoot is calling Toni Preckwinkle, Gery Chico, Bill Daley and Susana Mendoza “cockroaches.”
Lightfoot says Preckwinkle, Chico, Daley and Mendoza are just hoping “the angel of death passes” them by for advocating ethics now after taking support from Ald Ed Burke before Burke was charged with attempted extortion.
“What we’re seeing is what happens when light is shined on a dozen cockroaches. Initially they’re silent. Then they try to say “not me, not me!” Then when they get caught they finally stand up and do something. It’s a day late and a dollar short.”
Burke was getting a little love in the City Council. His name was restored to the City Council Finance Committee door after it was blacked-out for a few hours. His replacement, Ald Pat O’Connor apparently doesn’t want to evict him.
