More than a million ex-felons in Florida can now register to vote, as the state’s new Amendment 4 goes into effect.
Florida voters passed the amendment in November, allowing felons who have served their time to vote, except for those convicted of murder or sex offenses.
About 1.4 million former felons will have their voting rights restored by the amendment, with about half of those voters African-American or Latino.
