The man who launched a GoFundMe campaign to help ‘Build the Wall’ is cancelling the campaign and refunding all donations.
In an update published Friday, military veteran Brian Kolfage said the government would not be able to accept the donated money ‘anytime soon’, and that all $20 million in donations would be refunded.
Kolfage also announced a new project, a non-profit called ‘We Build The Wall, Inc.’ that will be accepting GoFundMe donations. The plan is to build ‘significant segments’ of a border wall on private property, which Kolfage promises can be done “in less time, and for far less money, than the federal government”.
Kolfage promises ‘not take a penny of compensation’ from donations.
