(CHICAGO) Visitation and the funeral will be held later today in Sheridan, Illinois for Trevor Wehner, 21, who was shot to death during the first day of his internship at an Aurora warehouse.
Several days after the workplace shooting, Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin says flags are flying at half staff in memory of the five who were killed at the Henry Pratt Company on Friday. Mayor Irvin says he has met with victims’ relatives, “We met with their families to assure them that Aurora is standing with them and for them, during this time and into the future.”
Five police officers were wounded in the shooting and Chief Kristin Ziman points out that on Friday, “Every time an officer was hit, another went in.” “No one retreated.” Days later Chief Ziman says, “Officers were hurt and we are, we are, working through that but those officers are still with us and some of them are going to have injuries that are going to take a long time to heal and that’s just the physical ones. Today, we had a stress debriefing for our police department and there’s a lot of pain.”
Visitation and funerals for Vicente Juarez, Russell Beyer, and Clayton Parks take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Arrangements are still pending for plant manager Josh Pinkard.
