California Senator and presidential hopeful Kamala Harris says she’d be down with changing Columbus Day to Indigenous People’s Day.
Harris said “Sign me up” when asked about the idea at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire on Tuesday.
The idea has already gained traction in four states and more than 50 U.S. cities. Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has proposed removing Columbus Day as a national holiday and making Election Day a holiday instead.
