(CHICAGO) In the race for mayor, a new poll from 270 Strategies – not paid for by a candidate – estimates the undecideds are down to 4% and Toni Preckwinkle, Bill Daley and Lori Lightfoot are leading the pack in a dead heat with 14% each.
If there is such a thing as momentum, Lori Lightfoot is feeling it.
“I think our message of change and moving in a different direction with an independent candidate who’s not tied to any of the factions of the broken machine is really cutting thru the noise.”
Toni Preckwinkle had a bumpy week last week, but she dismisses the notion that she’s lost her early lead.
“You know, I think this is political theater. When I go out into the communities, what people want to talk about are the issues in their neighborhood.”
All of the other candidates are out in the cold shaking hands and hoping for the best.
