Sen. Elizabeth Warren says her campaign won’t be chasing big-money donors as she heads into the Democratic primaries.
In an email sent out to supporters, Warren promised to avoid “fancy receptions or big money fundraisers” filled with “people who can write the big checks”. Instead, the Massachusetts Senator will focus on smaller donations from grassroots supporters.
Warren says her decision “will ensure that I will be outraised by other candidates in this race.” So far Bernie Sanders is the leading fundraiser with more than $6 million collected since he declared last week.
