* A federal judge is blocking Texas officials from purging nearly 100,000 names for the state voter rolls.
* The judge said Texas Secretary of State David Whitley “created a mess” when he identified about 95,000 non-citizens who were registered to vote. It was later found that nearly 25,000 names on the list were legal citizens.
* Some state officials weren’t happy with the ruling. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called it a “federal court takeover” of the state’s election process.
