Off the shores of Chile, scientists have found different looking orcas and believe it could be a new type of killer whale.
“This is the most different looking killer whale I’ve ever seen,” said Robert Pitman with the NOAA.
What makes these newly discovered orcas different? The white eye patch is much smaller, the heads are more rounded and the dorsal fins are pointed.
“I think it’s pretty remarkable that there are still many things out there in the ocean like a huge killer whale that we don’t know about,” said Michael McGowen with the Smithsonian.
