A UK woman with a severe nut allergy got a section of an airplane entirely to herself on a flight to Australia. Unfortunately, it was the lavatory.
Laura Merry says she had informed the airline of her condition in advance while booking and received confirmation that no nuts would be served.
But upon boarding, the cabin manager informed Merry that no accommodation would take place and told the 25-year-old she could either not board the plane or wear a mask, which Merry says would not have been enough to prevent the risk of anaphylactic shock.
Instead Merry rode out the flight inside the restroom to prevent contact with other passengers enjoying their complimentary snack.
