We now know the content of the last message from an Ethiopian 737 MAX 8 jet which crashed Sunday killing all 157 people on board.
According to Ethiopian Airlines chief Executive Tewolde GebreMariam, the pilot relayed flight control problems to air traffic control and asked for permission to return. GebreMariam told CNN that, as permission to return was granted, the plane disappeared from radar. It crashed just six minutes after takeoff.
Numerous countries and airlines have grounded their 737 MAX 8 fleets. The planes continue to operate in the US and Canada despite a Politico report that there have been at least five reports by US pilots to the FAA of issues with the plane’s anti-stall systems.
