Reuters and one of its reporters are in the hot seat after it was learned that he withheld unsavory information on Beto O’Rourke until after his failed Senate bid.
On Friday, Reuters published an article detailing O’Rourke’s involvement in a hacker group responsible for a variety of criminal activity and for spreading “fake news.”
Reporter Joseph Menn says the group was protecting O’Rourke’s identity and would not confirm his affiliation unless Menn agreed to sit on the information until after the November election. According to a Fox News report, Menn knew about the incriminating information since 2017.
O’Rourke has since apologized for his part.
