Hundreds Of Detained Migrants Released Due To Overcrowding

Border authorities have begun to release hundreds of detained illegal migrants into the U.S., because they no longer have anyplace to put them.

With immigrant detention centers overflowing, about 250 migrants have been released over the last two days – mostly families who crossed the border together. Those released were given a court date and instructed to stay with family members inside the U.S.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen says illegal immigration is up 80 percent over last year, with Customs and Border Protection on pace to apprehend nearly 1 million people this year.
