An Alabama woman who fled to Syria to join ISIS five years ago says she regrets everything and is pleading for a chance to return home.
24-year-old Hoda Muthana joined ISIS in 2014 at the age of 18 and has frequently posted anti-American messages on social media. But now she says she was “brainwashed” and promises to be a “model citizen” if she’s allowed to return with her 19-month old child.
However, the White House has blocked her return because even though Muthana was born in the U.S., she is not considered an American citizen because her father was a Yemeni diplomat.
