One mother of the movement hopes to bring change after losing her son to gun violence.
Lezley McSpadden who is the mother of Michael Brown is running for a city council seat in Ferguson, Missouri.
McSpadden has become a political figure after Brown, who was unarmed was shot by a police officer in the city in August 2014. The shooting sparked protests across the country.
Lezley McSpadden faces two incumbent candidates Keith Kallstrom and Fran Griffin, both have served on boards in Ferguson.
