The attorney general in Washington state is suing Motel 6 because they “improperly provided guest lists to immigration authorities for two years”.
The information was provided to ICE without a warrant.
“From 2015 to 2017, seven Washington locations shared the personal information of approximately 80,000 guests,” said Attorney General Bob Ferguson.
The information that was given to ICE included “names, driver’s license numbers, passport and green card ID numbers, room numbers, birth dates and license plate numbers”.
