In a story that’s sparked backlash against the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, a Georgia woman has been charged with disorderly conduct after she allowed her 3-year-old son to pee in a parking lot.
The incident occurred when Beech Island resident Brooke Johns was driving with her son Cohen. “He’s like, ‘Mom, I’ve got to pee. I’ve got to pee!’” Johns says, who’s eight months pregnant. “I was like, ‘Well, hold on,’ and he’s like, ‘No! I’ve GOT to pee! I’ve got to REALLY pee.’”
Johns says she stopped at a gas station, but Cohen couldn’t make it to the bathroom, telling her he was about to urinate in his pants. So, standing in front of him to stop other people from seeing what was going on, she let him relieve himself in the parking lot.
Apparently, one person whose view wasn ‘t blocked was a sheriff’s deputy, who gave Johns a citation that noted, “She allowed her male child to urinate in the parking lot. I observed the male’s genitals and the urination.”
