Trial in a decades old cold case is schedule to begin Monday in Florida. Michael Haim is charged in the 1993 murder of his wife, Bonnie Haim.
At 3-years-old, the couple’s son Aaron Haim, had told investigators that “Daddy hurt her,” but the Washington Post reports family didn’t believe him and there was a lack of supporting evidence.
Nearly 20 years would pass before Mrs. Haim’s remains would be found in 2014 by that same toddler, now 24-year-old, along with his brother-in-law.
The men were renovating Aaron’s childhood home when they found a concrete slab in the backyard, underneath they discovered his mother’s remains. Forensic results proved it. Michael Haim maintains his innocence. Aaron is expected to testify against him.
