Criticism of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar continues following comments the Minnesota Democrat made in a speech about the September 11th attacks.
The Washington Times reports video has surfaced of Rep. Omar speaking to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). In the video, Omar appears to dismiss the 9/11 attacks while playing the victim.
“Here’s the truth: Far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen. And frankly, I’m tired of it, and every single Muslim in the country should be tired of it,” said Rep. Omar. “CAIR was founded after 9/11, because the recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”
First year Texas congressman Rep. Dan Crenshaw tweeted, “First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of American on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something.’ Unbelievable.”
