The mayor of a Texas border town has been charged with voter fraud in an alleged scheme to rig his own election.
Richard Molina, mayor of Edinburg, TX, is accused of having voters list fake addresses to make them eligible to vote. Some of the fraudulent voters lived in an apartment complex owned by Molina.
18 other people, including Molina’s wife, have been arrested for illegal voting.
Molina, who was elected in 17 after winning 54 percent of the vote, has denied any wrongdoing.
