Facebook is looking to dip its toe into the cryptocurrency game, reaching out to other companies about launching a crypto payment service.

According to reports, Facebook has approached companies like Visa and Mastercard, along with other financial and e-commerce companies, about something called ‘Project Libra’.

The new service would allow WhatsApp users to send money to each other. Facebook could even use its new digital currency to pay users for viewing advertisements.
