If Corey Booker wins the presidency, he’ll use his executive powers to get gun control measures on the books, which have been stymied by Congress.
The New Jersey senator announced plans including implementing a federal licensing program, the fingerprinting of gun owners, and a safety training course.
“My plan to address gun violence is simple, we will make it harder for people who should not have a gun to get one,” Booker says, revealing he would make the order his “day one” priority.
Booker would also close gun show loophole purchases and the “boyfriend” loophole to stop those who aren’t married from obtaining a weapon if convicted of domestic violence.
