TransCanada and the White House received a win in the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals Thursday.
The court dismissed the case filed by activist groups, and could allow construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline to resume.
The appellate court ruled that the lawsuits, which were tied to a previous construction permit, were “moot” since a new permit had been issued by the current administration. The ruling vacates lower court judgments and dissolves previous permanent injunction orders.
The 9th circuit is generally seen as one of the most liberal in the nation. A lawsuit is still pending in Nebraska
