Three Safeway grocery stores in Washington state found a special surprise in their weekly banana shipment – about a million bucks’ worth of cocaine.
Authorities say 22 kilos of coke were found in a shipment to a store in Woodinville. Two other stores reported similar shipments.
The DEA is now investigating, trying to determine where the bananas came from and whether the Safeway distribution center was involved in the smuggling operation.
