FCC approves controversial cell phone merger

There’s a little less competition in the cell phone service industry today.

The FCC Wednesday approved the $26.5 billion merger of T-Moble and Sprint.

Sources tell Reuters it was a party line vote with two Democratic commissioners voting the deal down.

The merger of the 3rd and 4th largest companies in the industry still faces legal opposition by a New York led group of state attorneys general.
