Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says the U.S. no longer considers Israeli settlements to be illegal under international law.

During an interview at the State Department, Pompeo called it a complex political problem that can only be solved by negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Meanwhile, the United Nations considers all Israeli settlement activity to be illegal.
