Woman Ordered to Pay $34K for Road Rage Assault

Considering Canadians’ reputation for being nice, it should be no surprise that judges in the Great White North frown upon road rage incidents.

In face, a British Columbia Supreme Court judge on Monday ordered Jacqueline McGregor to pay a $34,000 fine for punching a motorist in the face. The incident occurred two years ago on Highway 99, according to court records. The victim, Michael Henderson, testified that McGregor had been tailgating him in a traffic jam while she was chatting on her cell phone. At one point, he thought she’d run into him, so he got out of his vehicle to check, he told the court. When he found no damage, he walked to McGregor’s vehicle to tell her she probably shouldn’t be on her phone. That’s when she hit him, knocking him to the ground.

Adding insult to injury, Henderson said when he asked for his glasses, she just rolled up her window and drove away.
