‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ Mustang Sells for $852K

A Ford Mustang driven by Nicolas Cage in the 2000 film “Gone in 60 Seconds” has been sold for $852,500.

The car, which was auctioned off over the weekend in Florida, is a custom 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500 clone with a 351 V8 engine and nitrous oxide injectors. The price it fetched was more than $350,000 higher than the amount it was appraised for when it was acquired by the Mecum auction house.

The “Eleanor” Mustang is one of 11 identical cars built for “Gone in 60 Seconds,” of which only three are believed to still exist. One of the car’s remaining siblings fetched $1 million at a Mecum auction in 2013.
