A Florida man has been arrested for playing with his new laser pointer — at an airport.

Deputies say Charlie Chapman Jr. is accused of hanging out at Sarasota Bradenton Airport, where he aimed his pocket laser pointer directly into the eyes of pilots attempting to land planes. His undoing came when he blinded the pilot of a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, which he then welcomed by hurling rocks and other objects at it, his arrest report indicates.

Investigators found the 41-year-old Chapman sitting on a forklift at the airport, according to his arrest report. They had to use a stun gun to subdue him after he “made a striking motion toward them with a hammer,” per the report. He’s been charged with aggravated assault on an officer, pointing a laser at a pilot with injury, pointing a laser at a pilot without injury and resisting without violence.
