Don’t cross Joe Biden at a campaign event; the 2020 Democratic candidate might hit you back with an insult.

When questioned Sunday about remaining in the race following his fourth-place finish last week in the Iowa caucuses, the former Vice President fired back at a potential New Hampshire voter.

“Number one: Iowa’s a democratic caucus. You ever been to a caucus?” asked Biden. When the Mercer University student replied “yes,” Biden joked, “No you haven’t. You’re a lying, dog-faced pony soldier.”

Biden previously claimed the expression is from a John Wayne movie. TMZ reports that it may actually come from the 1952 Tyrone Power film called Pony Soldier .
