The 2020 Census is officially underway, starting in a tiny, remote village in Alaska.

The Census Bureau began this year’s count in Toksook Bay, a fishing village of about 590 people near the Bering Sea.

For decades, the Census has begun its count in Alaska, before moving on to the rest of the country in April.
