TSA Stops Employees From Using TikTok

Don’t bother scrolling through your TikTok feed looking for videos of TSA workers lip-syncing and dancing to songs.

After New York Senator Chuck Schumer sounded the alarm about the popular social media app, the Transportation Security Administration has told its employees they can no longer use it for the agency.

In a press release sent Sunday, Schumer warned that TikTok could be a security risk as it is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.

A TSA spokesperson told PEOPLE that only a small number of those employed by the federal agency have used the app for “social media outreach,” adding, “that practice has since been discontinued” as of Monday.
