Texas Auction House Accused Of Price-Gouging Medical Face Masks

A Texas auction house has been accused of price-gouging for medical face masks during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Texas Attorney General’s office filed a lawsuit this week against Auctions Unlimited, accusing them of charging as much as $180 for package of sixteen masks.

Auctions Unlimited owner Tim Worstell says price gouging is impossible because “the bidders, not Auctions Unlimited, decide the price”.

But the biggest problem is that the lawsuit has left a stash of over 750,000 masks in limbo during the investigation.
