An Ohio woman is facing assault charges after she reportedly attacked her boyfriend with a butcher knife during an argument over his dirty undies.

Youngstown resident Virginia Hamilton, 69, was taken into custody after the incident, which occurred just before 11 p.m. on Sunday, police say. The spat began when Hamilton saw her boyfriend’s dirty underwear in the laundry basket, according to her arrest report. As the fight escalated, Hamilton grabbed a butcher knife and attacked the unidentified victim, cutting him on his hands and arms, police say.

When officers arrived, they found Hamilton on the front porch, wiping blood off her hands, her arrest report indicates. When asked about the blood, she reportedly told police she’d been stabbed by her boyfriend, who was inside the house. Police say alcohol was a factor.
