Brazil Sees Record Number Of Coronavirus Deaths, US Considers Travel Ban

Brazil just saw its largest jump in coronavirus-related deaths on Tuesday with a one-day total reaching 1,179, breaking the record of 881 set on May 12th.

According to the country’s Health Ministry, the pandemic has now killed at least 17,971.

On Monday, President Trump mulled the idea of a travel ban for visitors coming from Brazil, telling reporters, “I don’t want people coming over here and infecting our people.”

Earlier this week, Brazil overtook Great Britain as the nation with the third-largest number of confirmed infections, following the US and Russia.
