US Flags Ordered At Half Staff For Coronavirus Deaths

As the country’s death toll from the coronavirus outbreak climbs near 100,000, US flags atop federal buildings and national monuments have been ordered to fly at half-staff.

The directive went into effect on Thursday and will last for three days to honor Americans who have lost their lives during the pandemic.

According to Johns Hopkins University data, there are 1.5 million positive cases of COVID-19 in the US, with 94,591 deaths as of Thursday night.

Flags will remain at half-staff on Monday for Memorial Day, as is tradition, to mark military veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice.
