For the first time in 90 years, Los Angeles’ Gree Theatre has canceled the entire 2020 season due to the Coronavirus.
Anthony-Paul Diaz, chief of staff for the L.A. city parks department, says they followed the Hollywood Bowl’s lead by closing the theatre. The Greek has been labeled “on hold” for all events until 2021, but it’s unknown if the acts that were to perform this year will return in 2021.
2020 would’ve been The Greek’s 90th year, Diaz says the venue will come back better than ever in 2021 and that the decision to close was the best decision for theatre staff and fans.
