Joe Biden Addresses Civil Unrest In Philly Speech

Joe Biden addressed the protests and civil unrest sweeping the country in a speech delivered Tuesday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Biden called Floyd’s death a “wake-up call for our nation”, but said there is “no place for violence”.

The former vice president said there was “no place for looting or destroying property”, or for police that “escalate tensions or resort to excessive violence”.

Biden said “We need to distinguish between legitimate peaceful protest and opportunities for violent destruction.”
