While former Vice President Joe Biden has lost support from some voters, he maintains a lead over President Donald Trump in the race for the country’s top job, a new poll indicates.
According to a CBS News poll released Tuesday, Biden holds a four-point lead over the sitting president with 47 percent of voters voicing their support. The figure represents a 2 percent drop from last month’s poll. Meanwhile, the number of Trump supporters remains unchanged at 43 percent, per the poll.
The data also reveals nearly have of U.S. residents — 49 percent — disapprove of the president’s response to the George Floyd protests, while 32 percent say he’s doing a good job. However, 42 percent of the survey’s respondents say Biden hasn’t said enough about the protests for them to form an opinion on his response.
