A security guard at a nursery school in Guangxi, China is under arrest after allegedly stabbing 37 students and two school employees early Thursday morning.

No motive behind the attack is known at this time. There have been several school attacks at schools in China over the last ten years, with officials saying most of the attackers either hold grudges or have mental health issues. Many of the attackers have used knives since the sale and possession of firearms is illegal in China.

A parent near the scene told state-run newspaper The Paper that most of the children injured were around six years old. 37 of those attacked have minor injuries while two are in severe condition. All 39 victims are expected to recover.
