NYC Hits Hopeful MIlestone: Zero Confirmed Coronavirus Deaths for First Day Since March

New York City hit a positive milestone, with the city’s health department data showing zero new COVID-19 deaths during a 24-hour period between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Despite the fact that the number could change when the data is updated and the fact that three probable deaths are under investigation, this new milestone marks the first time New York City has reported zero new deaths since March 12th – one day after the city confirmed its first COVID-19 death.

New York City hit its peak for COVID-19 deaths with several days reporting around 500 deaths in April. The city’s deadliest day came April 7th with 806 deaths.
