Governor: Hollywood Productions Might Resume June 12

Hollywood will soon be back in business.

California Governor Gavin Newsom on Friday announced that production on movies and TV shows will be allowed to resume “no sooner than June 12th.” The exact date will depend on how the coronavirus data for each location movies and TV shows are being shot in, per the California Department of Public Health’s guidelines, Newsom said.

According to the guidelines, individual productions will be green lit following a “review of local epidemiological data including cases per 100,000 population, rate of test positivity, and local preparedness to support a health care surge, vulnerable populations, contact tracing and testing.”
