GOP candidate for States Atty proposes Rackets Unit

One of the best kept secrets of the November 3rd election is that States Attorney Kim Foxx has a Republican challenger.  He’s former judge Pat O’Brien. He says he’d get at the street gang wars with a new Rackets Unit. O’Brien says it would go after gangbangers not just for murders, but also guns and drugs simultaneously. He’d also use a state racketeering statute to go after street gang leaders. O’Brien claims that Foxx isn’t getting enough of these cases to trial soon enough.
